LIBRARY FAQs

  1. Is food allowed in the library?
Yes, snacks are allowed. Chicken fingers and french fries from the grille? Not so much. Pizza delivery? Negative.
  2. Can Freshmen study in the library?
Absolutely! We encourage you to study in the library whenever you are free during the day and in the early evening. Freshman are not allowed to study in the library during study hall.
  3. What kinds of magazine do you have?
Mostly entertainment and news (the scholarly ones are mostly online). We have lots of sports, fashion, popular culture, news mags, etc.
  4. Can I borrow a magazine?
Yes, you can borrow back issues, but not the current issue. You can read the current issue in the library. If you lift up the shelf that the current issue is displayed on, you will see a stack of back issues on the shelf below. Bring the one you want to borrow to the circulation desk and the librarian will check it out to you.
  5. Do you have a printer?
Yes! We have a printer/scanner/FAX machine. You can print black and white print jobs to the printer Library Student C4501. If you want to print in color, you can do that with the help of a librarian. Ask at the main desk.

  6. How many books can I check out of the library?
We haven't seen the need to limit the number of books our users can check out. Go for it!
  7. How long can I keep a library book?
The loan period for a book is 3 weeks, but you can renew it for another 3 weeks.
The loan period for DVDs is 1 week.
